Croscill has been a leader in the home fashions industry for over fifty years. The company has a tradition of innovation and creativeness as exemplified by dozens of machinery patents and first time industry introductions. It began in 1946, when Croscill introduced a twist to the old Priscilla window curtain. The company dubbed this unique valance as Croscilla, for the manner in which it went across the entire window and covered the curtain rod. Mix in match tier kitchen curtains, the Antique Satin drapery program, and the Blouson Valance were all Croscill inventions that gave the consumer extraordinary flexibility in decorating her home. Each became an industry standard Croscill first introduced the decorative comforter, as we know it today, in the late 1960s.
The Companys highly successful Arsenic and Old Lace design (named in part after a Cary Grant movie) took the comforter from a mostly solid color functional item to a stylish fashionable way to decorate the bedroom with coordinating bed skirt and window treatments. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s Croscill pushed coordination in home decorating to new heights. First pillows, then the table rounds, lamps and lampshades, wallpaper and wall borders, and finally decorative hardware to match innovative window presentations were introduced.
By the late 1980s Croscill was offering the consumer a complete bedroom ensemble in which all of the components matched and coordinated, for a decorators look. Croscills design staff provided its customers with the complete answer.
In 1993, Croscill added bath accessories with coordinating shower curtains and towels. Once again, the ability to coordinate different elements into a holistic decorating approach was brought a new level by Croscill. Today, the company is renowned for its broad based and bold designs, bringing a sense of fashion to the bathroom.
