Then for accents, only add accents of the dominate trend color.  It is easy to change. For example say you have taupe walls, and the trend is brown and aqua. Add aqua accents, such as pillows, throws, and other items. You may even want your bedding to be aqua. To years later, the trend may be terra cotta and brown.
