Easy Ways To Determine If A Window Is Square

Three Tips Determine If A Window Is Square

Why do windows need to be square? A situation may occur when mounting window shades are blindes with an inside mount. It's best to leave it to the the professionals when mounting blinds, shutters, or shades with an inside mount. That way it is there responsibility to measure, order, and mount.

However if you are a die hard do-it-yourselfer, here are three easy way measure and determine if a window is square:

1.  Get a carpenters square. First,

2.   Place it in the bottom left corner of the window.  If a gap is visible between the side of the window and the square, a left control will be best.

3.   Place the square in the bottom right corner; if a gap appears, a right control will be best.

While a carpenter's square is simple to use, it does not indicate how much the window is out of square.  As a rule of thumb, if the window is out of square by less than the finished dimension deduction of the headrail, a shading or shade should operate without problem, regardless of the control position.
