Hot Fabric Trends for 2007

Home fashion designers often get inspiration from runway fashion designers. As fashion and home colors come closer and closer, many home fashion product manufactures are intune with the world's foremost apparel textile show. Home fashions designers are already using the color palette from the fall and winter shows for their 2008 bedding lines such as neutral colors that range  from forest sagebrush to desert shades, as well as calming and serene hues.

The boisterous colors of the last years are fading in popularity, and calmer and quieter color palettes are again leading the way in home design for 2007/2008.  Colors in bedding, window treatments, and flooring are adding touches that add fantasy and escapism. Colors in home fashions are getting back to nature. Home Fashion colors are simple, quieter, and balanced. White is becoming more important and is showing up more often as an accent color. Natural colors such as sky blue, water, florals, and minimal colors will be this year's "in" colors. Harvest Manor Gold, Harvest Manor Red, Opulence and Luminous by Croscill Home Fashions is an example of the newest trends in bedding that are sure to be around for a while.

Navy will serve as a new darker trend color, but rather than an almost-black navy, look for a deeper blue (think of the deep ocean). The lightest beach tones and mineral tones that remind us of the Arizona desert are big colors. Browns and grays will be warmed up just a bit and are becoming even more important. While orange, and reds are still big, they will just be toned down to a spicy orange yellow and reds will lean toward garnet. These toned down oranges, reds and browns can also be seen in Thomasville Bedding's new designs of Laval bedding, Lara bedding, and our most popular bedding pattern, Captiva bedding.

Aqua and brown have been very popular in the past few years. These popular, natural colors emerged from designers following the prolific use of loud greens that came before and brown is used as a neutral against the aqua. Aqua tones can be found in the bedding designs or Lawrence Home Fashions, Victor Mill Bedding, Southern Textiles high design bedding.

Textured surfaces will be hot this year for fabric and add new dimension to color. They will take their inspiration from honey and coral tones. Cool colors, interesting surface textures, and lighter weight mixes comfort with style. Anything back to nature and organic is in. Our society is tired of unnatural dies and fibers. We want to live organic, eat organic and sleep organic.  The textile Industry is going back to nature starting with Home Source Bedding and Linens with their Bamboo line; a popular alternative in bedding, flooring and furniture. Bamboo is a fast growing grass that does not damage our environment. Home Source lead the way with this trend, responding to customer demands when designing their 100% bamboo sheets and bedding. Soft touch blankets are also another big trend by Home Source. They are  natural 100% ring spun combed cotton in a basketweave pattern. Home Source designed these blankets to serve as a year round blanket with superior performance and feel.

For 2007/2008 hard window treatments remain solidly popular. Hunter Douglas blinds, shutters, and shades are more popular than ever. At first, it was thought that blinds were only a trend, but blinds are here to stay. The more natural and the easier to clean, the better.  Our society is more earth conscious, and with the high price of fuel that heats our homes, more and more people are looking for alternative ways to keep their homes warm in the winter and cool in the summer. The more recent blinds, shutters and shades offer many solutions. Hunter Douglas provides shades in hundreds of colors, styles, and fabrics. With a lifetime warranty to ensure customer's satisfaction against bending or yellowing, a customer can't go wrong. During the winter, heat lost through windows can account for up to 25% of a home's heating bill. The new construction of Hunter Douglas blinds are not just for show. They also help you spend more time in sunny spaces, sleep without awakening to glare, and view a computer monitor or TV screen without eye straining reflections.  They protect furnishing and fabrics from damaging ultraviolet rays and showcase your house architecture.

Although blinds and shutters prove to be the best in window fashion, the layered look is more popular than ever. The combination of curtains framing a window with blinds can be the perfect answer to adding color in a plain room.  Adding a soft edge with lace curtains is a great idea, as is accenting your blinds with a solid lightweight drape.

Like blinds, hardwood floors, bamboo floors, or even the new cork floors seem to be here to stay. Our customers are softening up area floors with new and improved rugs. In 2006, The Atlanta International rug market introduced many new ideas that will remain in our homes for years to come. The newest and strongest area in rugs is the indoor /outdoor rugs. Home Comforter Rugs, and Home Fire Rugs introduced this concept in their area rugs and have been a mainstay ever since.  Home Comfort and Home fires designers have created the new polypropylene that has a softer feel and is strong for outdoor elements. The colors are brighter than ever before, and the styles are limitless.

Many people often don't follow a particular style, and one of the buzzwords that we call this in the world of decorating is eclectic. Eclectic really means mixing up styles. Eclectic is "in". and as never before, so is organic. Go organic in 2007 and 2008 with accessories, bedding,  flooring and there is no question about your home being in style.
