Kitchen Curtains, Panels, and Window Treatments
Although some bedroom windows can stand alone, conditions such as decor, sunlight or privacy may call for special window treatments. We invite you to take a look at these great curtain and window treatment options by Arley. Although once considered strictly casual, curtains have now earned a place in even the most elegant interiors. That is not to say that informal curtains are relics of the past, but rather that the choices are now wonderfully varied, from short cafes to billowy floor- length panels. Any style and taste can accomodate these lovely treatments!
See below for some information on selecting the right coverings for your windows
If you lack the time, desire or budget for a custom window treatment, ready-to-hang curtains or draperies my serve your purposes handsomely and are an easy solution to you window decorating needs. Draperies used to be staid and predictable: pleated panels hanging from hooks attached to narrow traverse rods. But no more! A wealth of trims, new choices in hardware and fabric and imaginative applications have enlivened traditional window coverings. Sheer fabrics filter daylight and give some daytime privacy; but at night, you may want something heavier. Casement fabrics are a traditional choice; like sheers, they soften a window, but they generally give greater privacy at night. Medium weight and heavy fabrics lend a formal, classic look and provide good insulation, light control and nighttime privacy. Handsome window treatments need not hide what's outside. You can have beautiful window treatments inside that also enhance an outside view.
One common mistake that people make when decorating is to leave a window bare because of a beautiful view. They forget that when the sun goes down, the window area can become a black hole. At night, even a simple treatment framing the window will add warmth and intimacy to a room. Some questions you can ask yourself to help you through the challenge of choosing a window treatment are:
- Do I need to cover the window totally because of an unpleasant view or for privacy?
- Do I need special insulation protection because of climate or lack of storm windows?
- Which direction does the window face - sun or shade?
- What treatment will work best with the rest of my room's decor?
